Shaun King, who emerged as a voice for the violent Obama-era Black Lives Matter movement, took to Twitter Thursday to share an epiphany he has just had.

Responding to the news that a third man has been arrested in the death of Ahmaud Arbery, the Georgia man who was shot and killed after being seen entering a house under construction, King actually complimented Republicans in the state.

And this admission was “painful” for the man some see as the whitest black man in America — both parents on King’s birth certificate are white. When this information came to light, he countered to say that his mother had an affair with a light-skinned black man, who is actually his biological father.

King tweeted: “It pains me to say this, but I have found the Georgia Republicans in leadership to be far more responsive under pressure in the Ahmaud Arbery case than the key Kentucky Democrats in leadership in the Breonna Taylor case.
