President Trump Sending Feds To Kenosha, Wisconsin, To Restore Law & Order

President Donald Trump on Wednesday said Wisconsin officials had accepted federal law enforcement support following several days of protests after police shot a Black man in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

“We will NOT stand for looting, arson, violence, and lawlessness on American streets. My team just got off the phone with Governor [Tony] Evers who agreed to accept federal assistance (Portland should do the same!),” Trump said on Twitter.

Trump added.: “TODAY, I will be sending federal law enforcement and the National Guard to Kenosha, WI to restore LAW and ORDER!”

Kenosha has seen three days of rioting, looting, and violence

From the moment police shot Jacob Blake multiple times at close range on Sunday. Black Lives Matter, Antifa rioters have run roughshod over Kenosha.

But as we reported early Wednesday, it became clear that drastic actions were needed after two people were killed and injured another when Black Lives MatterAntifa rioters were confronted by heavily armed civilians trying to protect a car dealership.

Trump’s announcement comes as the Republican Party prepares to hold the third night of his renomination convention, which has focused heavily on maintaining law and order amid protests over police brutality.

Wisconsin’s governor, a Democrat, has already deployed some Guard to assist police in Kenosha. The White House said Tuesday that Evers had rebuffed an offer of 500 additional Guard members, instead of seeking only 250.

It was not immediately clear how many would now be deployed to the state. Trump said Evers had agreed to accept federal assistance in a phone call Wednesday with administration officials.
